Level 2 ASPs install overhead or underground service lines between the electrical wiring on a Connection Applicant’s premise and the electricity network. This includes connecting service lines to the network and making the connection live.

    The Electrical Safety Office (ESO) has completed a review and update of CEOP8030 Electrical Safety Rules (ESRs) that is now available in the Document Library and on our website as Issue 20. The new revision incorporates frontline worker advice and consultation, learnings from recent incidents and investigations, technology changes, and alignment with other recently reviewed procedures and industry guidelines

    New Building Commission NSW portal for submitting Certificates of Compliance for Electrical Work

    What is happening?

    The Building Commission NSW has created a digital platform called BCNSW eCert portal, for Electrical Contractors to submit Certificates of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW). You can find out more information about the BCNSW eCert portal on the Building Commissions NSW website.

    Note: Building Commission NSW will be hosting helpful webinars for trades to attend to learn how to use the portal, ask questions and provide feedback.

    Reminder: Christmas and New Year Planned Outages and Contestable Works 2025/26

    What is Happening?

    To minimise disruption to customers during the Christmas / New Year period, we’ll cease scheduling planned outages with a customer impact from 19 December 2025 until 4 January 2026.  

    Our Contestable Works office will also be closed from 19 December 2025, with business resuming as normal from 5 January 2026. During this period, minimal Essential Connections Portal cases/enquires/emails/documentation or Asset Labels will be processed.

    What do you need to do?

    1. Review your planned interruption schedule for the dates above and work with your nominated Local Depot Switching Resource to reschedule where required.
