Part 5: What are the new tariff options we could trial?

Now that we have explained why our tariffs have to change, we'd like to gather your initial thoughts on the potential tariffs we could trial. Please watch the video below which outlines five pricing options we could consider taking to trial.

Now we would like you to please provide your views on these tariff options in the survey below. We're not looking to 'pick a winner' at this stage, we just want to understand how you feel about each one - what you like and what you don't.

If you would like to read more about each of these possible new tariffs, please refer to the 'New tariff fact sheets' menu on the right-hand side of the screen.

When assessing each new tariff option, remember that it could be:

  • combined with an export tariff, to reduce pricing inequity between those with and without new technologies;
  • used with timers to limit the usage of certain appliances to set hours; or
  • used with appropriate smart technologies to reduce complexity and automate customer decision-making.

If you have any questions about this process or your participation, please read the Frequently Asked Questions. If your question isn't answered there, then please send us a question using the yoursay@essentialenergy.com.au email address under the 'Who's listening' section on the right-hand side of the page.
