Ivanhoe and Tibooburra Microgrids
A microgrid is emerging as a potential solution to help build a more resilient and sustainable energy future for regional, rural and remote communities. Microgrids can be islandable and operate independently from the main electricity grid during planned or unplanned outages using local energy generation and battery storage, coupled with a microgrid control system.
We are currently looking to implement microgrids and several locations including Ivanhoe and Tibooburra.
Ask a question about the Smart Energy Communities Trial
If you are not involved in the trial but would like to ask us a question please do so here and we will respond as soon as we can.
Questions from participants who live in the trial communities should be asked in the Ask Essential area on their own Community Engagement webpages, as this page is for public Smart Energy Communities trial information.
