Together, we power tomorrow

We understand that listening to our customers and stakeholders is crucial to making good business decisions and we want to provide genuine opportunities for people to shape decisions early in the process.

Our Stakeholder Engagement Framework guides our business approach, integrating engagement into our operations and projects and ensuring we consider the impact of the decisions we make and uphold our responsibilities within the communities we serve.

INVITATION TO JOIN IN THE CONVERSATION WITH ESSENTIAL ENERGY

There are two open opportunities to get involved, by joining the Essential Stakeholder Network (ESN) or by participating in the Stakeholder Panel (SP). Both options allow you to actively engage with Essential Energy, provide feedback, and play a part in influencing outcomes that matter for Essential Energy customers, ensuring our decisions remain transparent, inclusive, and responsive to local priorities.

1. ESSENTIAL STAKEHOLDER NETWORK

The Essential Stakeholder Network (ESN) helps us to strengthen our connection with customers and local communities across regional, rural, and remote areas of NSW.

The ESN will bring together representatives from a range of organisations and community groups that represent the perspectives and interests of our diverse Essential Energy customers.

By getting involved with the ESN, you will have a direct relationship with Essential Energy and be invited to share your feedback on a broad range of issues to help drive the delivery of safe, reliable, and affordable electricity.

Essential Energy and ESN members will have ongoing engagement through:

  • Online updates and meetings – regular email updates and occasional online sessions on projects or issues.
  • One-on-one outreach - updates, queries, and feedback as needed to inform business decisions.
  • Issue Working Groups - members will also be invited to register their interest to participate in focused discussions on various topics.

As a member it is not necessary to be an ‘energy expert’ but it is required that you are affiliated with an organisation, industry association or community group and represents Essential Energy customers.

2. STAKEHOLDER PANEL

The Stakeholder Panel (SP) will help us deliberate on strategic and regulatory matters. Members will play a key role in informing our regulatory advocacy positions and shaping the development and design of our regulatory proposals.

Stakeholder Panel members will meet a minimum of four to five times a year but may meet more often as increased engagement on regulatory issues is required.

Members of the Stakeholder Panel should work for an organisation that advocates for the interests of Essential Energy customers and have expertise in the energy industry.
