Do I really need to register, I just wanted to share my thoughts?

Registration improves accountability and helps avoid nonsense comments that might affect the trustworthiness of responses to this consultation. By registering, we know that you are a real person with genuine responses and opinions.

Registration is required if you wish to complete a survey or ask a question. Your privacy is protected and it's quick and easy to register and contribute anonymously with a screen username of your choice.

    • Your username will be publicly visible in any online comments, forums, ideas and stories you choose to contribute to, but all  your other information will remain private.
    • Please make sure to choose a Username that you are comfortable being publicly visible.

If you have already participated in previous Essential Energy engagements or you have been registered by Woolcott Research:

    • Click on the log or sign in button and enter your username and password.
    • If you mistakenly try to Register when you are already registered, you will receive an error message indicating that your email address is already registered and to sign in using the appropriate password.

If this is your first visit to Essential Engagement - Register using the Register button on the Introduction to the 'Talking Tariffs' project page

    • Create a username and password and then provide a valid email address.
    • It will only take a couple of minutes and allows us to confirm that you are a 'real' person, notify you each time we load a project page and avoid multiple submissions by the same individual.

TIP: Remember to check your email inbox to confirm your registration. Sometimes people accidentally click the confirmation more than once which may result in an error message. If this occurs just visit the Essential Engagement website and log in with the username or email address and password you used during the registration process.

    How are online forums moderated?

Part 4 of the 'Talking Tariffs' website engagement includes a forum where you can note down your thoughts on the question posed, as well as like and dislike the suggestions of other participants.

The forum is moderated by the website's host company Bang the Table and project staff.

If you post something that is unrelated to the topic then it may be removed in order to keep the content relevant. Any offensive or malicious comments will be removed.

How will my privacy be protected?

The platform and registration is secure and protects your privacy. We will protect your details and only use your information for data validation purposes.

Further information can be found in our Privacy Policy.

For any online comments, forums, ideas and stories you choose to contribute to, your screen Username will be publicly visible, but all other information will remain private.

Please make sure to choose a Username that you are comfortable being publicly visible.

    What happens to my feedback?

All comments, ideas and suggestions are collated and used by the relevant team to inform the development of strategies, projects, programs and activities, or to gain an insight into community views and opinions.

The feedback we receive on this site is used in conjunction with feedback we receive from other engagement activities such as workshops, meetings, onsite sessions, or surveys.

While all feedback provided as part of an engagement is considered in the decision-making process, this does not mean that every suggestion can be taken on board and adopted as proposed.

How much time should I spend on the activities?

We expect that the information and activities on the Talking Tariffs site will take around 45 minutes to read and complete.

Obviously, if you would like to spend more time on them, and provide more feedback, then you are more than welcome.

Does it matter which order I do the activities in?

The activities should be completed in the following order:

    Part 1: Essential Energy's role

Part 2: How do tariffs work now?

Part 3: Why our tariffs need to change

Part 4: Simplifying behavioural change & improving fairness

Part 5: What are the innovative tariff options we could trial?

The reason for this is that the information builds through the activities so if you try to do them out of order then you won’t have all of the information required.

    How are public comments moderated?

All comments are moderated 24/7. The moderators do not edit or alter any comments unless they are inappropriate. Comments are removed if they are offensive, malicious or significantly off-topic.

I’m having technical problems completing the activities, what do I do?

If you are experiencing any technical difficulties with this page or the site, email us at support@engagementhq.com

What do I do if I don't understand some of the information?

If you have a question or don’t understand something please email us at yoursay@essentialenergy.com.au
