Essential Energy Enterprise Agreement ballot results

Essential Energy employees have had the opportunity to vote on an Enterprise Agreement offer that included:

  • an industry-leading 15 per cent pay increase over three years
  • a one per cent increase to superannuation
  • an upfront payment of $5,000 and significant enhancements to allowances, wellbeing benefits, leave improvements and other conditions.

Essential Energy, the combined unions and bargaining representatives have been informed that a majority of the eligible employees who voted, did not support the proposed Enterprise Agreement.

Next steps

Essential Energy will schedule further bargaining meetings with the combined unions and bargaining representatives. We will continue to bargain in good faith and progress bargaining in a constructive and efficient manner for the benefit of employees, customers and the NSW community.

Disappointingly, Essential Energy expects the industrial action driven by the Electrical Trades Unions (ETU) and Mining and Energy Union (MEU) to continue across regional, rural and remote NSW, deliberately impacting customers and small businesses through unpredictable cancellations of planned outages that have a direct impact on the day-to-day activities of the NSW community.
