Essential Energy is a state-owned corporation and electricity distributor for regional, rural and remote NSW. Every day, our teams inspect and maintain about 183,000 kilometres of powerlines and 1.4 million poles across a network that spans 737,000 square kilometres, from the mountains to the coast. That includes everything from reading meters and replacing power poles to trimming trees away from powerlines. When extreme weather hits, like floods, bushfires and severe storms, our crews are on the ground day and night, working to restore power safely and as quickly as possible. Simply put, we build, maintain and repair the poles and wires that keep electricity flowing to homes, businesses and communities.
