Access to Network Data

Customers now have easy online access to our network maps and data, via the new Network Information Portal. The portal provides Accredited Service Providers (ASPs), Electrical Contractors (ECs), councils and other customers with self-serve, anytime, anywhere access to our electricity network information, such as pole data and network routes.

ASPs and ECs will be able to use the portal for ‘live meaningful’ conversations with their customers, by viewing interactive online maps of our data when on-site, via any device. This will lead to more informed decision making, faster design and approval processes and fewer rejections of connection applications.

Customers can also use the portal’s map interface to order network data packages, making for a better user experience than the existing online order form. This will make it easier for customers, including councils and emergency services, to integrate our data with their data, for improved desktop planning and critical asset protection – to help prepare for events such as fires and floods. Alongside this, the availability of network maps and data has many and varied potential benefits from conveyancing information to transport and agricultural planning.

This more transparent approach to our data will reduce inbound customer enquiries for information, result in less manual data gathering in response to customer requests, and a better strike rate of certified design submissions, creating less rework and ultimately less cost throughout the supply chain.

Customers can access the portal via the Overhead Electricity Network Maps page on our website.

The introduction of the Network Information Portal is a great example of how making our data more available can enable efficiencies not previously possible.
